Information concerning Covid testing & Covid exposure:
If anyone in your house tested positive for Covid-19 during the break from school or if anyone came in direct contact with someone who tested positive, please contact Nurse Kaci Burton today at 870-310-3321 to verify clearance before returning to school. This is a reminder that if there is a positive test in your household, that is not the student, the student must be out during that person’s quarantine time and then must start their own quarantine at the end of the positive person’s quarantine. The times are not consecutive. Nurse Kaci is the only person authorized to give you a return date for school.

This is a reminder that school will start back Monday, January 4th at 7:45 AM. Doors are locked and tardies are issued at 7:50. Please remember to send extra masks and a water bottle with your children. Virtual students will need to login to google classroom tomorrow morning and view schedules and assignments. The menu can be found on the school website. Type “menu” in the search area.

Parkers Chapel School District will transition to virtual learning for the remainder of the week, December 16-18. Check our website for more information.

While I am out and cannot do the afternoon car duty, I am begging you to continue to turn right and make the block. Show your children that we continue to do the right thing even when someone isn’t standing there watching and do it for your child’s safety. Thank you for your help with this request. *Remember to use your blinkers & look both ways. Stay safe! I have requested additional help from UCSO for this while I am out.

Archery practice is cancelled for this evening on campus. If you have signed up to participate, you will need to do private practices at least once per week on your own until we can start on site in January. There will be a sign in book at Slingin Arrows. Please have 3 practices completed on your own before January 4th. I am sorry for the inconvenience of requiring off-site practice at this fine, but that is our only option until January. Thank you for your cooperation and participation.

Reminder: Tomorrow is early dismissal. 12:00 or 2:30 Preschool; 12:35 Elementary Car Riders, 1:30 Bus Riders. Next Thursday the dismissal times will be the same as above. Class parties will be next Thursday, during the moring. Next Friday teachers will prep their rooms for January. Dismissal times will be 12:00 PreK, 12:35 Car Riders, 1:30 Bus Riders. The Book Fair is full of great books & prizes. Mrs. Rumph can assist your child with shopping. Please note: If you’ve purchased a gift certificate for the Follett Book Fair for your child online, please print it out and send to school in an envelope. Make sure your child knows to take it to Mrs. Rumph. You may also email a copy of it to Mrs. Rumph at rumphd@parkerschapelschool.com. The new book fair company does not provide gift certificate information to the school.

Please put away cell phones while in the car line. This is a state law & is enforced to protect your children.

Currently there are no phone lines working or internet at the school. Until the cut line(s) are repaired there will be no in or out calls. Online students will need to check in periodically to determine when we are back online & classroom assignments are available.

There will be NO archery practice tonight in the MAC. Sign-up forms will be available this Wednesday and must be turned in by this Friday. The forms will also be posted to the website for virtual students. There will be three teams: (1) 4th & 5th Graders (2) 6th - 8th Graders (3) 9th - 12th Graders. Each competition team must have 4 females, 4 males, and 4 additional students. All competetion teams are made up of 12 members. Students do not have to compete to participate. Practices for students younger than 4th grade will be announced at a later time.

This is a reminder that normal “face to face” school will resume tomorrow. If your child was quarantined and you are unsure about the date he/she may return, please contact your child’s teacher. If your child tested positive, he/she will have to have a clearance return letter from the AR Dept. of Health. If you need assistance with this, reach out to Nurse Kaci at burtonk@parkerschapelschool.com. If your child has come in contact with a positive person or has tested positive over the holiday break, please contact Nurse Kaci as soon as possible. Please remember to send water bottles, clean backpacks, and jackets with names written inside.

November 17, 2020
Due to an increased number of positive Covid-19 tests and a large portion of our student body and faculty being quarantined, the Parkers Chapel School District will be moving to all virtual instruction as of Wednesday, November 18th, through Friday, November 20th. We feel that it is best for our community and school district to cancel on campus instruction to decrease contact and prevent any possible spread. The district expects to be back on-site after the Thanksgiving holiday. All facilities will be deep cleaned during the break.
Instruction will continue during this time, and all students will be expected to log on to their google classrooms for all assignments. Teachers will record lessons, respond to emails, and post assignments for the remainder of the week. Please respect their office hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
All extracurricular activities this week are being postponed.
Any student that develops symptoms or tests positive for Covid-19 during this time must report this information to Nurse Kaci Burton by email at burtonk@parkerschapelschool.com or by calling 870-310-3321.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but again we feel it is necessary for the safety of our students, staff, and community to suspend face to face instruction at this time. We will continue to provide the Parkers Chapel standard of instruction and appreciate your support and patience.
Michael J. White
Superintendent

Beginning tomorrow - PC Schools will move to a virtual setting for the remainder of this week. All plans are for on-site school to resume on Monday, Nov. 30th. If this date changes, it will be posted on the school's website and a push notification will be sent out through the school app. Teachers will continue to post virtual lessons for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If elementary students do not have access to a device to watch the recorded lessons, the teacher will provide an opportunity to get caught up the week of Nov. 30th. Work is also being sent home with all students to complete and return on the 30th. If a student is currently out due to illness or quarantine, these papers will be given to the student on the 30th to complete. Again, most students will come home with this work today. Progress reports are also being sent home today. Any student that develops symptoms should be tested and self quarantine until they receive the results of their test. If a student is tested, it must be reported to Nurse Kaci by email at burtonk@parkerschapelschool.com or by calling 870-310-3321.

Due to an increased number of positive Covid-19 tests in our seventh grade class and many close contacts that have been forced into quarantine, we feel that it is in the best interest of our community and school district to cancel on campus instruction for 7th graders during the week of November 16-20.
7th graders are encouraged to use the links in their Google Classrooms to join live classes each day. For those unable to connect live, please contact Mrs. Taylor or Mr. Smith and connection assistance will be provided.
*This only affects our 7th graders!
We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to seeing all of our students back on campus after Thanksgiving Break!

There will be no archery practice tomorrow night. Information about archery will be sent out this week. Competition teams are 4th & 5th grades (Elem), 6th-8th (Jr. High), and 9th-12th (Sr.High).
