Responsibilities of the Counselor

  • Assisting our students in their development socially, emotionally, and academically

  • Providing registration and orientation services to new students

  • Meeting with individual students; leading small groups; leading classroom guidance sessions

  • Coordinating school-wide testing program

  • Consulting and communicating with parents, faculty, staff, and community

  • Assisting with daily Rise and Shine program

  • Chairing the Parkers Chapel Elementary Parent Involvement and Section 504 Plan committees

  • Serving as district liaison for homeless students or unaccompanied youth

  • Coordinating Food for Kids

  • 7 years classroom teaching experience

  • 21 years school counseling experience

  • State certified in guidance and counseling

  • Mother of two

I am one member of a very important team that comes in contact with your child. All students will face challenges of coping with everyday problems. In addition, some students will face extraordinary challenges that unfortunately exist in our society. School counselors support the mission of a school by assisting all students as they navigate the normal and the extraordinary challenges of life.
