The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) provides the school district with guidance for COVID-19 matters. All contacts, quarantines, isolations, and closures will be in consultation with ADH.
To help us at the school, we want everyone to understand the terms associated with COVID-19.
Probable Close Contact- District Identified individuals that have likely been within 6 feet for 15 cumulative minutes or longer within a 24 hour period to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Quarantine- Required for someone identified as a close contact to a positive case of COVID-19. This person must remain at home and avoid all public activities for 14 days from the last date of contact with the positive case, even if they receive a negative test result. The incubation period in which symptoms of COVID-19 may develop is considered 14 days.
Isolation- Required for someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 This person must attempt to separate themselves from others for a minimum of 10 days; however other criteria may apply. The ADH case investigator will issue an official letter of release when the individual is ready to return to work or school.

**Please do not send a sick child to school or a child that you suspect may have been exposed to COVID-19.Common symptoms include the following: Fever, Cough, Runny Nose,Sore throat, Chills and body aches, Loss of taste/smell, Nausea/Vomiting/ Diarrhea, Headache.
**Students/employees who are being tested for COVID-19 should remain in quarantine pending results of their COVID-19 test. Individuals should also remain in quarantine if anyone in their household has been tested for COVID-19.
- If a person is tested, they must remain out of school until results are returned negative and they have not been deemed to have been a “Probable Close Contact”.
