If anyone in your house tested positive for Covid-19 during the break from school or if anyone came in direct contact with someone who tested positive, please contact Nurse Kaci Burton today at 870-310-3321 to verify clearance before returning to school. This is a reminder that if there is a positive test in your household, that is not the student, the student must be out during that person’s quarantine time and then must start their own quarantine at the end of the positive person’s quarantine. The times are not consecutive. Nurse Kaci is the only person authorized to give you a return date for school.

While I am out and cannot do the afternoon car duty, I am begging you to continue to turn right and make the block. Show your children that we continue to do the right thing even when someone isn’t standing there watching and do it for your child’s safety. Thank you for your help with this request. *Remember to use your blinkers & look both ways. Stay safe! I have requested additional help from UCSO for this while I am out.

If you have signed up to participate, you will need to do private practices at least once per week on your own until we can start on site in January. There will be a sign in book at Slingin Arrows. November 17, 2020
Due to an increased number of positive Covid-19 tests and a large portion of our student body and faculty being quarantined, the Parkers Chapel School District will be moving to all virtual instruction as of Wednesday, November 18th, through Friday, November 20th. We feel that it is best for our community and school district to cancel on campus instruction to decrease contact and prevent any possible spread. The district expects to be back on-site after the Thanksgiving holiday. All facilities will be deep cleaned during the break.
Instruction will continue during this time, and all students will be expected to log on to their google classrooms for all assignments. Teachers will record lessons, respond to emails, and post assignments for the remainder of the week. Please respect their office hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
All extracurricular activities this week are being postponed.
Any student that develops symptoms or tests positive for Covid-19 during this time must report this information to Nurse Kaci Burton by email at burtonk@parkerschapelschool.com or by calling 870-310-3321.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but again we feel it is necessary for the safety of our students, staff, and community to suspend face to face instruction at this time. We will continue to provide the Parkers Chapel standard of instruction and appreciate your support and patience.
Michael J. White
Superintendent

Due to an increased number of positive Covid-19 tests in our seventh grade class and many close contacts that have been forced into quarantine, we feel that it is in the best interest of our community and school district to cancel on campus instruction for 7th graders during the week of November 16-20.
7th graders are encouraged to use the links in their Google Classrooms to join live classes each day. For those unable to connect live, please contact Mrs. Taylor or Mr. Smith and connection assistance will be provided.
*This only affects our 7th graders!
We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to seeing all of our students back on campus after Thanksgiving Break!

This is a reminder- please send extra masks in backpacks & water bottles. Thank you for your cooperation.

Parkers Chapel School District
Friday, November 13, 2020
Dear Parents, Students, and Faculty:
Recently the Parkers Chapel School District notified the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) of positive cases of COVID-19 in the Parkers Chapel School District. The district followed the ADH protocols to identify probable close contacts. Those who have met the criteria have been contacted.
The district has taken active measures to deep clean and disinfect the facilities appropriately. Parkers Chapel School District will continue to work with the ADH and follow all guidelines and protocols as directed. We appreciate the cooperation of our parents, students, and staff during these difficult times.
For the privacy of our students and staff, the Parkers Chapel School District cannot share personal information regarding this case. The school district remains steadfast in our commitment to the safety of our students, staff, and community.
Again, if you have not been contacted you are not considered a probable case of close contact. Continue to monitor your child for symptoms and let Mrs. Burton, the school nurse, know of any suspected issues. Make sure you are familiar with our protocols for testing and possible close contact. Please monitor our district website and social media pages for updates as they become available.
Go Trojans,
Michael J. White
Superintendent

Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and quarantines, the Parkers Chapel Administration has made the difficult, but necessary decision to forfeit tonight’s playoff game at Clarendon. This sadly concludes our season.
Tickets will be refunded by the Arkansas Activities Association; this typically takes 7-10 business days to credit the customers debit/credit card.
Thank you to all parents, fans, players, and school personnel for all your support!

Remember to send clean masks & a clean water bottle each day. Students without these items will be required to call parents & have the items brought to school. Thank you for remembering to send these items daily. (A minimum of three (3) masks should be in backpacks.)

Menu change for today: Prek will have popcorn chicken today instead of chicken and waffles. K-12 will have orange chicken today instead of chicken and waffles. The 2nd option of hamburger for K-12 will stay the same today. On Thursday, Prek - 12th will have chicken and waffles with a 2nd option for K-12 of chicken sandwich. We apologize for the inconvenience, a delivery was delayed causing the change.

Please wash masks & water bottles. All students must have a water bottle from home to refill each day. All students must have a mask with at least two or three extra masks to use if something happens to the one they use at the beginning of the day.
Parents will be called to bring masks or water bottles if students do not have these two things each day.

Mr. White’s letter will not attach to the text messaging system used by the school. However, the letter, concerning Covid, can be found on the live feed on our school website and it can also be accessed by using the school app.

Virtual students will need to contact their teachers for a schedule change for early dismissal days, or watch for an email or google classroom announcement addressing the schedule change for early dismissal days.

This is a reminder that there is a new school calendar posted on the school's website - scroll to the bottom - under News - you will see a letter from the Superintendent, Mr. White, and the new calendar. This calendar has the list of dates for early dismissal. Typically, it will be every Friday, 12:30 for car riders and 1:30 for bus riders. Watch for a "Dates to Remember" sheet soon.

Please remember to wash masks, put extra masks in backpacks, wash water bottles, send water bottles & masks every day.

From the School Nurse: Attention: The Flu Mist is not available tomorrow for the flu clinic. If you marked MIST on your child’s flu sheet, you must call the nurse and update the form to injection or they will not be vaccinated, as the mist is UNAVAILABLE. Call 862-4641 ext 114. Leave a call back number if your call rolls to the answering machine; or email burtonk@parkerschapelschool.com before 2 PM today. We apologize for this inconvenience.

If you marked that you wanted your student to be given the mist, please call nurse Kaci at 870-862-4641 ext 114 to let her know how you want your student to be given the flu vaccine. Please leave a message with a return call number if you can't reach her.

Just a reminder that today, 10-24, is NOT an early release day. PCHS will be dismissed at our normal 3:30 time today.

You can also drop them off at the elementary office front door if that is easier. There will be a folder on the door where you can place the forms.

This is a reminder that tomorrow is the deadline to turn in paperwork for the school’s flu clinic.

Parents that will be attending face to face conferences must be on the teacher’s schedule and will need to enter the elementary building through the double doors - just past the elementary office (next to the cafeteria). Screening will take place there.
